When to trek the highlands

May is the best month to climb the highlands (Colca Canyon and Cordillera Blanca are the famous routes) especially because during this month, the mountains are very lush and the weather is just fine to provide superb vistas. Flowers are in bloom, the streams are full, and the grass are very green every May.
