With its old age, Egypt has become one of the best destinations in the world. After all, who would not want to see the pyramids, the Temple of Karnak and the many other tourist sites the country has in store. However, before being carried away by the excitement, travelers are as ked to be wary of a thing or two which can make a perfect trip, a complete ruin.

First of all, travelers must note that the Nile is definitely not like any other river in the world. This is in the sense that aside from fertility to the land, it also carries dangerous parasites that can cause fatal diseases. Tourists are advised not to swim nor frolic in the river. More importantly, it is best to carry around drinking water to avoid possible intake of Nile water from felucca drivers.

Second, because of high tourism, scammers are rampant in the country. People, especially travelers, are warned about camel owner schemes which allows for travelers to ride camels but be taken to secluded areas and extorted money from. Travelers should beware. There is no such thing as a free camel ride.

A third and important thing to remember when coming to see the ancient tombs and architecture of the country is that the restrooms are also old, shabby and at times even non-existent. For travelers with children or disability, be advised of the only areas with comfort rooms for their own convenience.

Aside from these factors, there is also another thing on diseases. Hepatitis A is an illness which Egyptians seem to be naturally immune from, but to foreigners, it's communicable. Thus aspiring travelers, for their own safety should be vaccinated with anti Hep A vaccine.
