Generally, the best time to visit Taiwan is during autumn or fall. This is any day or week between the start of September and the end of November. During this time, the country is experiencing neither too hot nor too cold weather. It is perfect for outdoor activities like trekking or going through shops around town. For people who loves swimming, summer can also be a good time. Just make sure that the region to visit is near the high lands or else be prepared for a very hot vacation.
Although spring is not a very hot time in Taiwan, it is still not a very good time to visit. The place is really dry during this time, sandstorms from China also occur often in this season, and Rain pours unpredictably. Alos, try not to schedule a trip during the Chinese New Year Festival. Despite the grand celebration on the day itself, shops and sites are close for a whole week or two after. There will be no place to go and it will all be a waste of travel time. However, do visit duirng the Lantern Festival and the Dragon Boat Festival season.
