Taiwan Visa and Passport |
In entering Taiwan, a valid visa stamped on a traveler's passport is necessary, unless an exemption is granted by the authorities. Exemptions may allow people to stay in the country for 14 days without extensions. It can be acquired only by completion of the requirements. Requirements include, a passport with a validity of at least six months, a confirmed back and forth ticket, non-existent criminal record, and entry through either the C.K.S International Airport, Kaohsiung International Airport, Keelung Harbor, Hualien Harbor, Taichung Harbor, or Kaohsiung Harbor.
Any tourist who wishes to stay in Taiwan for more than 14 days must present a tourist visa upon arrival. In applying for a Taiwanese tourist visa, the general requirements are one valid passport, one visa application form, two recent passport-type photos, a copy of a round-trip ticket, and a letter explaining the purpose of the trip. Upon submission of these requirements to the nearest Taiwanese Consulate, the applicant needs only to wait a few days before the visa is issued and the planned trip will be on its way.
