Because of its geographical position, Taiwan's climate is considered subtropical with the Northern part mostly cooler than The Southern region. It has four seasons, summer, winter, autumn, and spring. Summer usually begins in the month of June. During this season, the hottest place is the lower land areas, while the mountainous regions remain cooler. By the end of August, the hot summer air is slowly replaced by the cooler breeze of fall. Fall usually ends on the month of November. Come December, winter officially begins. Winter in the highlands of Taiwan can be very cruel, but the lower lands commonly remain warmer. After winter, spring begins most. Usually the first month of spring is March. During this season the country is neither too cold nor too hot.
