Qatar is a generally safe country. However, since this is an Arab and Muslim country, people, even tourists are expected to act modestly. Women should never leave their hotels in improper clothing. Moreover, men and women do not naturally go in the same group as Western countries. The country has its own ways of making the opposite sex mingle.
The worst enemy of a memorable trip would be dehydration. The country is a desert. Thus, visitors who are especially not used to the heat are advised to carry around drinking water, with which they can rehydrate every now and then. Other than these, visiting Qatar will never be a problem.
