Qatar has a very rich cultural heritage that the people love to flaunt to the utmost. The Qatari people pride themselves as an Arab folk with an element of culture unique among most Arab nations. Some of these original customs and tradition include camel racing. Many people might not believe it but camel's can move fast, though not as fast as other race animals. Qataris used this feature of camels to entertain themselves and in the process created a tradition that has been practiced by generation up to this day. This not only makes the country different, it also draws tourists into the country.
Aside from camel racing Qataris also practice queer rites before marriage. This is especially true for women. The traditional wedding dress should be green and henna is normally tattooed on her hand.
Despite this uniqueness, however, the celebrations in the country are common to other Arab lands. Given that Islam is the religion, the festivals range from powboat races, to Ramadan, and other Eid Festivals.
