Though feeling the rain in a tropical archipelago does not sound like a bad idea, the best time to visit Indonesia is still during the dry season. This is between the months of May and September. In this season, the muddy roads and flooded streets may be avoided. Outdoor touring activities are also probable and popular festivals like the Nyale Sea Festival (Catching the Sea worm Festival, Wesak Day (Buddha's Birthday), and the Hari Raya Puasa (Celebration day of fasting) may be experienced.
