Entering Chile
Entering Chile is very easy for nationals of some countries including Australia, Britain, Canada, Japan, United States, and those in Europe. The people of Antigua & Barbuda, Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Fiji, Grenada, Guatemala, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Jamaica, Liechtenstein, Macau, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Morocco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, St Kitts & Nevis, St Lucia, San Marino, Slovenia, South Africa, Surinam, Switzerland, Tonga, Tunisia, Turkey, Uruguay, Vatican City, Venezuela, and Serbia & Montenegro may also enter and stay for 90 days even without visa. The same is the case for nationals of Peru, Belize, Costa Rica, Honduras, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.
However, nationals of countries not included in the above mentioned, will need visa prior to their planned visit.
Applying for visa
Aspiring Chile tourists may apply for their visa at any Chilean embassy nearest their residence. They would need to submit documents such as a valid passport, proof of sufficient funds, return or onward ticket, and a visa fee. Upon submission of these, the visa will immediately be processed
Issuance
Visa processing usually takes one to seven days. Upon issuance it will be valid for up to 90 days. Stays beyond this limit would require application for extension.
