Chile is often called "pais de poetas" (country of poets) since renowned poets like Gabriela Mistral, the first Chilean to win a Nobel Prize for Literature, and the country's most famous poet, Pablo Neruda, came from there.
Chilean music ranges from folkloric to popular and to classical. The national dance is Cuenca. A traditional song is called tonada.
Soccer is Chile's most famous sport. The country has already appeared in seven FIFA World Cups.
