Asia History |
Being the largest continent in the world based on demography and on land mass, Asia's weather is as assorted as its nations. Each region has its own climate, ranging from tropical to sub-tropical, to arid, and semi-arid. On its peak the countries are mainly mountainous, providing long cold winters and short summers, but with more rainfall as compared to Central Asia.
The Southern part, on the other hand, has very long summers. Except in the mountains, the entire region experiences hot weather all year round, with temperatures that reach up to 125 degrees Celsius at times. Together with the Eastern area, South Asia has only two seasons, the wet season, which typically occurs from June to October, and the dry season. This is almost the same with Southwestern nations in Asia, only that rainy season is called the winter season in this region.
While the East, South, and North are blessed with periods of rain, the West unfortunately has countries with semi-arid to arid climate. The summers are cruelly hot and even in other seasons; the temperature only drops a few lines. Droughts also occur often in this area of Asia.
