Asia History |
Asian history is a collection of some of the most ancient stories in the world. Home to three of the earliest civilizations, China, Mesopotamia, and the Indus River Valley, its vast lands and scattered waters speak of settlers' gradual advancements in technology and sad defeat against persistent colonizers. They also stood witness to the efforts of the people to preserve the myths and legends of its many nations. The cave walls and tree barks served as the hard drive that recorded the earliest alphabets like the cuneiform and pahlavi, maps to different destinations within the continent, like the directions to the long and winding Silk Road, as well as various philosophies and religion. These pieces of information were passed on and assimilated by one nation and another until it spread like a cult. The cycle continued and produced nations with diverse citizens. There are Chinese people in the former Spanish colony, Philippines. Buddhist monks and Muslims in former Portuguese colonies like India, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia. These are only few traces of the intricate past of this huge continent. Today, the new generation is still weaving new events that are sure to make the complex way life inviting to peoples of other world regions.
