As most countries, Algeria has its own provision as regards entry and stay in the country. There are some countries whose nationals are granted the luxury to enter and stay even without visa. This long list includes Sahrawi, Arab Democratic Republic, Maldives, Morocco, Tunisia, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Mali, Seychelles, Yemen, Malaysia, Mauritania, Syrian Arab Republic, Argentina, and France. The same goes with citizens from Germany, Croitia, Romania, Hungary, Albanie, Spain, Benin, Malta, Switzerland, Brazil, Mexico, Tanzania, Cuba, Niger, Turkey, and Egypt. Peru, United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, Portugal, Venezuela, Greece, Republic of Korea, Vietnam, Guinea, Senegal, Italy, Slovakia, Malaysia, and South Africa are also countries whose citizens may enter Algeria even without visa.
Countries which are not included in the given list may not enter Algeria without visa. Thus any person wanting to see Algeria but coming from a country without visa agreements with it may apply for a visa in any Algerian Consulate or Embassy in his hometown. The papers necessary are a valid passport with at least one free visa page, two recent passport-typed photos, two fully-filled out and signed application forms, a visa fee, confirmed itinerary and hotel reservation, and an airline ticket.
After submitting the necessary documents, the applicant must wait for a couple of days before its issuance. Then, the planned trip may be pursued.
