Placed on the North of Africa, Algeria is sandwiched by the Mediterranean countries Turkey and Spain. Thus, in its history these two countries played big roles as the main colonizers. Their battles rattled the entirety of Algeria. Victory of one was usually followed by the victory of the other. Gradually, however, the Ottomans or the Turks came out as victors through ingenious strategy.
After the rule of the ottomans Algeria came under the wings of France. However, the new breed of Algerians was not as benevolent as the ones in the past. They were a determined pack. They exerted efforts to free their country and soon Algeria was no longer under any country's rule. This nonetheless did not bring much change to the country. The government remained unstable and the people were still doubtful. For 11 years this was the situation.
By the year 1990, a good party emerged from the set that ran during the elections. This group became the hope for change of the country and they only proved themselves worthy. The feel of unrest lurking the cities gradually diminished because of this fundamentalist party and Algeria started its way to development.
