Algeria's culture could have been pure Arab but the long stay of the French colonists resulted to a way of life that is mixed Arabic and French. Its two major languages are from these two regions. This is even evident in the country's literature. However, the country's religion dates back to its first settlers, the Berbers. Most of the people in Algeria are Sunni Muslims religiously following Islamic rules and codes. This then resulted to very modest women and very respecting men.
