The over-all weather of Africa can never be described with one or two words. It is generally regional because of the topography of the continent. The equatorial countries experience a tropical rain forest climate with high temperatures and heavy rain all year round. This region's belt, the tropical savanna almost always has high temperatures and occasional rain. The case is almost the same in the steppe regions, which also has limited rainfall. Perhaps the area with the worst weather condition is the northern third of Africa. It has extremely high temperature and aridity. On the other hand, the remaining northern regions and the south have Mediterranean-like climate, with sub-tropical temperatures and occasional winter rainfall.
