Most countries in Africa hove visa exemption and visa upon arrival provision only with other African, some Asian, and a few European countries. The nationals of these countries may enter and stay in Africa even without visa. However, the countries not on the list are not allowed to even enter the country without it. Thus, there is a need for the nationals of the excluded countries to secure visa before going on an African trip.
The requirements of visa application for most countries in Africa include a passport with a validity of six months and at least one free visa page, two recent passport-type photos, a completed visa application form, return and onward airline ticket, visa fee, and a certificate of vaccination for yellow fever. These need to be submitted to the Consulate or Embassy of the chosen country in the home country of the applicant. It may take a few days for processing depending on the tourism departments of the country.
African visas usually last for three months from the date of issue.
