In traveling to Vietnam, the very first thing that should be noted is the diseases that may pull down a traveler's perfect health. Thus, in order to veer away from health hazards, immunize before going. Keep in mind that it is better to be safe than sorry especially in another man's country.
Also, travelers should be forewarned about the Honda oms or the motorbikes. Riding around these modes of transportation can be very alluring especially in the day. The cool morning air will sweep through your face and the sun's rays smile down like limelight. However, at night travelers should be extra careful of this kind of ride. Some Honda om drivers take their passengers to brothels instead of the exact place they were instructed to go, and when they are asked to bring the passengers back to where they came from, these drivers charge double. It is best for visitors to take the Xe om or taxi when planning to go around town at night.
Another important thing when going to Vietnam, aspiring tourists should be informed that registration is a necessity in the country especially if the place to stay in is a small town or province. Vietnamese authorities are very keen about their constituents. Any new face not signed under a familiar name in the place can cause trouble to their host. It is a responsibility to register under the name of the traveler's host. The host will then submit the registration form to assure the authorities that the new face is but a visitor wanting to look around and not a trespasser in town.
