Like a castle surrounded by walls, entry to UAE can be difficult for some citizens, but very easy for others. The citizens of countries belonging to AGCC (Arab Gulf Co-operation Council) as well citizens from Western Europe and the Pacific Rim can enter the country without worrying about visa. Citizens of the former may enter and stay in the country without visa, while the latter may acquire visa for free. Other countries, not included in these groups are supposed to obtain visa prior to a visit.
To apply for visa, interested parties are to visit the nearest UAE consulate or embassy in the home country and submit requirements including a photocopy of a passport with a minimum validity of six months and free visa pages, completed and duly signed visa application form, and an invitation letter or proof of purpose. There will also be a fee to be paid.
After submitting these papers, process time may take a few days. Upon issuance the visa may be put to use and the planned vacation may be realized.
