There are a number of things to be warned about in coming to Turkey. Like in other countries, some people in Turkey are scammers out to prey on tourists. Visitors are asked to watch out for this. They come in many forms. Some are car owners pretending to be nice guys who want to give a lift. Then they extort money as soon as the destination is reached. Another form is beautiful ladies waiting in bars. These ladies pretend to be innocent girls wanting a drink. They order and have guests pay very high for the drink. Male visitors are especially forewarned about this. For female visitors, watch out when shopping around. Some guys pop out offering a sale turns out the items are more expensive.
Aside from scams, another important thing to watch out for in Turkey is the earthquakes. The country is right on top of a fault line. Thus, quakes are common occurrences. Travelers are advised to learn the basic things to do during earthquakes.
