Madagascar has a hot and subtropical climate. The mountain areas are mostly cooler, and the south and west regions are hot and dry. The rainy season is from November to March, while the dry season is from April to October. In the months of November to April, the mountains become warm and thundery, not very appropriate for hiking, but the rest of the year it becomes cool and windy.
