With the advent of the Islamic Revolution the bars in Iran closed down for good. This means that the party animal foreigners visiting Iran is left with few alternatives after sunset. After the shops close the cities also close down. Night time consist of getting together with family or friends and playing card games or smoking the hookah. Going to parks and coffee shops are good options too. There are lots of nice restaurants and coffee shops and big parks in Tehran and other major cities and you can see them all full of people at nights.
