Hong Kong Good to know |
Hong Kong is a country known for endless shopping by day and clubbing at night. Without prior knowledge of some of the negatives, a trip to the island may become a disappointment. One of the downbeats of the country is the scammers in the long line of shops. Some of the stores shortchange or hand out fake bills to tourists, taking advantage of their limited knowledge on yuans or Hong Kong money. Some stores deliberately sell items without the necessary accessories. This is to force the shoppers to buy the accessory, which is supposed to come along with the item initially bought. In other stores, scamming is in the form of items that are claimed to be authentic yet fake in actuality. Tourists should be wary that when it is claimed an original only being sold cheap, it probably is a phony.
Another great feature of Hong Kong is its cuisine. However, before gulping one of those tempting street foods, pay attention to the fact that not all of them were prepared in a sanitary way. A careful traveler should note that with the rising number of bird flu cases in the island, the best way to go is to eat safely prepared food. This will ensure good health as well as an excellent vacation.
