Stanley Main Beach is one of the two beaches that made Stanley, Hong Kong famous. It is located at the east side of the peninsular. This sandy beach is perfectly designed for barbecues which make for a nice experience. It has also become a popular place for windsurfers too and during the Tuen Ng Festival celebrated in June, Stanley Main Beach hosts the Dragon Boat Championship event each year.
A perimeter net was placed around the beach in order to protect swimmers and beach-goers from shark attacks, jellyfish and other possible threat from the ocean.
