Guyana is a very interesting place as it has a very colorful culture and its people largely vary from each other. However, Guyana has a few features which tourists must know about in order to have a memorable trip.
Bugs
The country has really big bags which are even creepier than the normal-sized ones. These are scattered all over the countries. From research, it may be found that the bugs grow big because of the healthy rainforests of the country. The bugs receive enough nourishment. Though most of them don not bite, they are quite dangerous as they can cause allergic reactions. Plus, they can be terrifying for first timers.
Mosquitoes
Just like the bugs, mosquitoes in this country are bigger than those from other countries. They are also abundant and their bites are really itchy. All visitors are advised to have mosquito repellants with them all the time. This is to protect them from these giant blood suckers. It is also to prevent triggering allergic reactions that mosquitoes may cause.
Puddles and mud
As the best time to be in Guyana is by the end of the wet season, there are areas which remain damp even by the entry of the dry season. The places where paths became impassable because of the flood are left muddy and with puddles the size of small lakes. Though it may look innocent Travelers, especially those renting cars to other destinations get stuck in these areas. Unfortunately, rescue typically comes only after hours of waiting. Thus, tourists who are visiting the country are advised to inquire about flood situations of their desired route. This is to be warned which roads are the safest.
Poisonous plants
Because of the healthy rainforests, many plants grow in Guyana, even poisonous kinds may be found in some areas. Tourists are asked to be mindful of the plants they get near to. It is best to ask about the dangerous plants to be able to stay away from them.
