Ethiopia is generally a tropical country. However, due to topography, the country experiences very unstable weather. It has three environmental zones, cool, temperate, and hot or the dega, weina dega, and kolla respectively. The cool zone is mostly the grounds with an elevation of more than 2,400 meters. The temperature in these areas averages to 16 degrees Celsius at times, with March, April, and May being the only warm months. On the other hand, the temperate zone is the areas with an elevation lower than 2,400 but higher than 1,500. These areas usually have a 16 to 30 degrees Celsius temperature by day. The third zone, which is the hot zone, has an elevation lower than 1,500 meters. Daytime conditions in this area are torrid, ranging from arid to semi-arid depending on surrounding environment.
