Although it may sound simple, the history of Cuba is actually one of the most controversial histories in the world. It is much bigger than the country itself for the struggle of its people is one defiance that inspired the rest of the world. From breaking free from the 400-year colonization and a mock independence, the small island proved that even something small can be really terrible.
What made its history popular
As was made mention in the famous movie "Scarface", Cuba's history is composed of series of wars, mostly against the authorities administrating it the island. The initial invaders were the Spanish people who were granted the claim to the country by the explorer, Christopher Columbus. A number of rebellions against the rulers were begun but failed resulting to worse conditions and more tension between the ruling country and America. This resulted to the Spanish-American War. Through this war, the country was given formal independence and finally regained liberty.
From then to now
In 1959, the dictator, Fulgencio Batista was kicked out of his seat by the rebel Fidel Castro. From a trading island, it froze and turned into a communist country. Until today, the people of Cuba are under this kind of government. At some point it has pushed some to migrate to other countries while others remained faithful to their country.
