Botswana lies just atop the Tropic of Capricorn, but even in such location the country still undergoes extreme temperature and weather. Winter, which typically comes in late May and lasts until August, the days are normally warm and sunny, at times clear and cool. At night the weather shifts from cool to really cold. In summer (October to April), the country gets wet with rain and some roads become impassable from flood.
