Botswana is a great place to visit as it offers a great view of the wildlife still intact. However, as the animals in exhibit are live-moving creatures, tourists are given warnings and protocols to heed and follow.
First of all, visitors at all times must be with a guide. They are also asked to stay in the route and never stray as this may mean danger to their precious life.
Second, there are diseases like malaria that are rampant in the country. This is why a certificate of vaccination is required before entering the country. Aside from that requirement, they must also, if possible, carry around insect repellents to keep disease-carrying insects away, and bottled water for a safe drink.
A third thing to remember when traveling to Botswana is that the animals are alive and they act according to their instinct. This is true with the hippopotamus of Botswana. They are very territorial and some of them attack people. Therefore, to keep away from harm, people are asked to be wary of these creatures. No matter how cute they look, they are still big animals that can lunge at people.
Aside from these, and some petty crimes, Botswana is generally a safe country and a vacation in it will definitely be worth every penny.
