The Venezuelan culture is as colorful as the beautiful faces of its women. It is the result of a different cultures and traditions rolled into one. There are influences of American Indians, Spanish, Africans, Italians, and Portuguese. Thus, the country has a mixed beliefs and norms.
Language
The country's main language is Spanish. This is the one spoken by most of the population, although there are over 40 languages in the country. Part of this 40 is from the indigenous population and the others are influenced by the different countries mentioned in its history.
Religion
Majority of Venezuelans are Roman Catholics. This religion was introduced by the Spanish people when they entered the country. It was easily assimilated and still practiced until today. However, given the freedom to choose one's own religion there are also Venezuelans who belong to different denominations like Protestantism, Jewish, and Muslim.
Arts and literature
Although the country was made famous by their beauty queens, it still has lots to boast other than the faces. The brain is also one of the great treasures of the country, proven by writers, Teresa de la Parra and Romulo Gallegos. These two writers wrote about the country, its history and how the lives of the people may be portrayed through both prose and poetry.
Traditions
Family is the core of the norms in Venezuela, this especially seen during traditional Venezuelan weddings. Before a woman is married of to a man, the groom must ask for the hand of the lady from the parents as a sign of respect. After the process is done the ceremony may then be commenced.
