Bolnat - "a ritual of men (mumbaki) chanting songs for the beginning of the planting season."
Added: 1 year 1 month ago in Sorsogon, Philippines
Apart from mega crabs and shrimps, ube bibingka (purple yam rice cake stuffed with salted egg and cheese) and cassava cake in Sorsogon are some of the best in the country. There are many kiosks around town selling such delicacy for P10 to P30 each depending on the size and on how “special” the product is (It becomes “special” if more fillings are added on it. For example, if it has meat inside, the price becomes more expensive). Probably, the best time to eat an ube bibingka or a cassava cake is while watching the egrets at Pilar’s Egret Sanctuary. A number of vendors are in the sanctuary.
