The Glossary
During the Rodeo Masbateño Festival, many leather cowboy huts, T-shirts, and painted woodcarvings of the festival and of the island can be bought from Masbate City’s hawkers, street fairs, and central market.
An all-year must-buy is fresh cow’s milk and cheese from Facenda da Esperanza. The milk comes in many different flavors like chocolate, strawberry, pandan, etc. You can get such milk products from Masbate City’s central market or from Facenda da Esperanza itself in Milagros. The proceeds from the cow’s milk will go to the rehabilitation of drug dependents and alcoholics.
Similarly, the city has many street vendors selling fresh and dried produce like dried corn and tobacco leaves. Grilled corn is a common Filipino street fare and therefore a must-try.
