The Glossary
Carinderia - "the Philippine equivalent of a canteen, it serves mostly classic Filipino food at knock-down prices."
Added: 1 year 4 months ago in Boracay, Philippines
You can buy native handicrafts such as shell and freshwater pearl trinkets, genuine sharks' tooth pendants, embroidered swimwear, silk pashminas (shawls), and tie-dyed or batik cloth, clothes and bags from everywhere between Boracay's Stations 1 to 3. The shell trinkets are usually made in Cebu while the batiks are from Mindanao.
The unique souvenirs are a bottled white sand painted with Boracay's name and landscape; a necklace made of pucca shells from the nearby Pucca Beach; and a T-shirt with a landscape painting rendered on-the-spot by a local artist.
