Despite the news of on-going wars in the different parts of the Middle East, many people still want to visit this region of the world. However, before getting in any of the country, prospective visitors must know that most of the countries require visa before entry. Typically neighboring countries are allowed to enter without visa. They may also stay for a limited period of time. For interested people from another continent there are countries that offer visa upon arrival, which they may avail in any ports of entry of the countries.
On the other hand, for people who wish to obtain visa for a country in the Middle East in their home country, applications are accepted by embassies and consulates nearest their residences. In order for their applications to be approved a set of documents must be submitted. This set includes a valid passport, generally two passport-type pictures, an invitation from a local travel agency, and a visa fee. At times proof of hotel booking, onward and return ticket and proof of sufficient funds are also required. After submitting these with a completely filled out application form, the visa will be on its way.
Typically, a visa process takes a few days before issuance and the visa will be valid for three months from the date of issuance. Thus a trip may be planned either before or after acquisition of the document.
An important reminder, some countries like Jordan, Syria and a few others strictly forbid the entry of Israeli passport holders. Entry of these citizens will automatically be considered illegal.
