Kuwait is said to have been part of an early civilization. It has traded with old Mesopotamian cities as early as the 3rd millennium B.C..However, its kingdom has only been officially founded in the 18th century. It was through the Aniza Tribe that the Kuwait City began. In 1756, Kuwait was declared a sheikdom and was ruled over by Abd Rahim. From Rahim's lineage, all other rulers of Kuwait even the modern day sheik was pulled.
Following this sheikdom are a few unsuccessful invasions both by neighboring countries and the Brits. Kuwait remained free decide its own affairs until geographic locations hindered initial plans as a neighbor,Iran, threatened the country. Seeking for assurance, the country rooted for then strong nation, Iraq. This led to an attack by Iran which almost brought the country down. Offering aid, the United States came to the picture. The alliance forged during this dilemma extended until the 20th century when the US launched an attack against Iraq. Kuwait offered an area in the country to become base camp for US military troops.
Thus, from a small trading country, Kuwait developed into an oil-producing country that provides sums of cash not only to its own government but also to allies across the globe.
