The Kazak cuisine is largely influenced by their nomadic culture. The main ingredients of the country's cooking are mutton, horse meat, and dairy products, while the cooking methods are mostly preservation techniques. Besbarmak is the most popular dish. It is either boiled horse meat or mutton. There is also kazy, which is the traditional horsemeat sausage of the Kazaks. Aside from these meat dishes, Kazakhstan also has pastry dishes. Manti, is dough-based dish with spiced lamb and black pepper. Baursak is the country's traditional donut.
