As of this year, the country of Iraq remains a war zone. Travelers are advised if possible to stray from this route as it is still dangerous especially to Americans. There also ammunitions which are buried under the rubbles. If visiting cannot be helped, visitors are advised not to stray from the common route as hidden landmines may be accidentally activated. Aside from this, tourists are also warned about the sandstorms that occasionally occur in the country. Most of all, tourists are asked to be wary of the political situation of the country. Israel is enemy to Iraq and a mere mention of this name may cause trouble. The same goes with the name, Saddam Hussein. It is best to be a quiet tourist in this country.
