You may want to eat a lot of yogurt (known as "curd") in India to help your stomach adjust to the local cuisine. Since ancient times, this dairy product has been known to aide in digestion.
You won't have any trouble looking for curd as it is very popular in the country-- there are even local dishes that have yogurt incorporated with them! It's like the Westerner's version of mashed potato, everyone has their own version of it and they claim theirs is always the best!
