The culture of the Caribbean is largely a combination of many cultures including European and traditional Arawak and Creole. Its islands have its own distinct culture depending on the country that colonized it and the ways of life that were assimilated.
Languages
The major languages of the islands are Creole and English. There are other islands whose people can speak French because of the French invasion. On the other hand, there are also those who speak Spanish because of their Spanish Colonists in the past.
Religion
The main religion is Roman Catholicism, carried by the European colonists. However, nationals of other islands follow the Rastafarian philosophy, the native Santeria religion, and other religion carried by the different ethnic groups in the island.
Values and Characteristics
The most common value between islands is love of family and modesty. Although there are islands which have people who love partying, these people are still modest in their partying. Caribbean people are also warm and very welcoming. A smile is the easiest to get in these islands.
