In entering the land of the Khmers, Cambodia, a passport is not the only document necessary to be had. A visa is compulsory to enter the country as well as payment for airport tax. Exceptions only exist between the country and the Philippines and Malaysia. Nationals from these countries may stay for 21 and 30 days respectively. Beyond this two countries visa is asked by authorities. Thus, for Cambodia tour aspirants it is best to secure a visa first and foremost.
To apply for a Cambodian tourist visa, a person needs to submit a few documents. These are a valid passport with spare visa pages, a duly completed application form, and a recent passport sized colored photograph. Money is also necessary for paying the processing fee. After giving all these requirements to the nearest Cambodian Embassy or Consulate in the applicant's country, processing will now proceed. The applicant needs to wait for a few days from the day of submission until the issuance of the visa. Upon issuance of the document the future tourist may now dream of days basking under the tropical sun and traversing the waters to the different pagodas in Ankor Wat.
