A combination of British and African existence in the island, the country's culture has presented manifestations of the different ethnic groups in the form of legends, stories, and festivals celebrated with gusto. There are the tales of the hardwork of the Amerindian settlers and the slavery of some of the African people.
The most spectacular festival in the country, the Carnival, is the most important tradition. It happens in August, dedicated to the emancipation of African slaves. Beginning with a morning jam, it is followed by a run for a fortnight
Apart from this, there are also sailboats racing which keeps the country at peace and indestructible.
