Uruguay, though a small nation, has a very rich and colorful culture. Part of the culture is the preserved customs and beliefs of the early settlers and the remaining are the contributed traditions of the Europeans who came to the island.
Art
Uruguay has a flourishing art industry. Some of the country's great painters are not only known within the island but also worldwide. Even the sculptors coming from the country are renowned in the field as well.
Music
The people of Uruguay are generally music enthusiasts. Some of the popular music are tango, folk, and waltz. There is also a local forms such as murga, milonga and condombe. Due to modernization, current music in the country are mostly under the rock, jazz, and pop genre, which is also the same worldwide.
Religion
The country has no official religion. However, majority of the population are Roman Catholics. The remaining percentage is divided between Protestants, and other indigenous religions.
Language
The official language of Uruguay is Spanish, but a part of the demography can also speak French and Italian. The business people are mostly English Speaking.
