King Narai once moved the capital of his Siamese kingdom to Lopburi during the 17th century. At this time, he built himself a palace now known as King Narai Palace. It rivals most other buildings and structures of the town in size and design.
After the death of the ruler, the King Narai Palace fell into disuse until King Rama IV used this as a summer palace. Today, the palace is open to visitors who will be able to check out what remains behind its thick walls.
