Thailand Good to know |
The Grand Palace, Chiang Mai, and Ko Samui are only few of the many grandiose attractions that made Thailand a must-visit country in Asia. However, other than the beautiful spots, aspiring sightseers should also know a few things that will assure them of an excellent visit. First, some parts of Thailand are under- developed. More often than not, public urinals are unclean and toilet papers are not provided. It is best especially for ladies to carry around a roll or two of toilet paper so that "sticky" situations may easily be solved.
Another thing that Thai tourists should be forewarned about is the monkeys in certain parts of the country. Some of them are actually dangerous in spite of their seemingly cute look. They are thieves of shiny improperly stored objects. In addition to the naughty monkeys are the naughty scamming tuk-tuk drivers. They usually offer a complete day tour for as low as 10 baht, but this day tour is nothing but a trip from souvenir shop to another. Travelers should be skeptical with these kinds of offers. Keep in mind the quote, "what seems too good to be true is probably not" and you will have a lovely tour time around the vibrant country of Thailand.
