Tajikistan Information |
The people of Tajikistan hail from the natives of the Samanid Empire. These are brave men who fought against the successive wave of invaders in the country. Unfortunately, despite their guts, the Uzbeks and Afghans were still successful in conquering their land. By the entry of the 1800s, these initial colonists were expelled by the Great Russian army. The enemies were defeated only to be replaced by larger and stronger colonist. However, the citizens who seemed to have had enough revolted against the Russian government and fought for autonomy, which they won in 1990. The country was placed under communist rule and experienced a number of conflicts. This government lasted until the year 2005 when the country held its very first parliamentary elections. Rakhmonov was put into power and many people claim of his abuse which goes even today.
