Syria has a number of sites that is unique to itself. Thus, many a traveler's curiosity has been piqued by this country and has been urged to visit. Even to this day, many people make Syria a part of their to-go-to list. However before entering a country, people should know a couple of things that may turn their trip into a bad journey.
An important thing to note before touring Syria is that USD is accepted by many shops and restaurants in the country. It is not necessary to have the tour budget changed to Syrian denomination. This would only result to excess Syrian cash which is hard to re-change before going home. Aside from cash, ATMs also do not work in this country. Credit cards are even the better plastic cards to carry around.
After money, incoming people should also note that cab drivers in this country sometimes double as scammers. When hiring one make sure to be knowledgeable of typical cost of the travel and make the driver stick to this standard.
There are other tourist traps in this country but these may be considered minimal. Generally, Syria is a safe destination.
