South Africa has a subtropical climate. It is the most blessed among African countries as the level of temperature, humidity, and rainfall remains moderate. It has four seasons, winter and summer, fall and spring. Winter typically begins in June and ends in September. The country becomes cool and dry during this season, making trekking, hiking and other outdoor activities possible. On the other hand, summer starts in late November and ends in March. It carries rain, mists, and some hot days in low-lying areas. Coastal towns become very alluring in this season. Waves hitting the shores become as tempting as snow cones. Fall happens in the country in the months of April and May, while spring takes place in mid September to November. These seasons have the most moderate temperature, ideal for taking a noon-time walk, leisurely stay in cafes, and other somewhat lazy activities.
