Pakistani cooking is the concentration of South and Central Asia, and the Middle East. It is popular throughout the world because of its innate richness and flavor. For every region there is a signature taste of cooking, showing that culture does create variations. For instance, Eastern Pakistan cuisine can be hot and spicy. On the other hand, Western Pakistani dishes make use of aromatic spices.
Rice is the staple food in the country and most dishes are served with it. Takhni Palao or brown rice made from meat and stock is one of this dishes. Matar Palo (rice with peas) is another one. Rice is also found in Maash Palao (vegetarian rice meal).
Streetfood is also available around the cities. One example is the jalebis or a sweet deep fried batter. There are also different varieties of kebabs that may be enjoyed.
