Maldives is a Muslim country. Thus, the people are very conservative. In visiting the country, women are advised to wear decent clothing as a form of respect to the country's culture. While men are suggested not bring any alcoholic drinks with them. The country has a ban on alcohol. No store sells it and no one is allowed to bring in any from other places.
Aside from being a Muslim country, it is also a tropical country. It has wonderful beaches that offer water-enjoyment and exploration. However, these waters also, at times, pose as dangers to the travelers who come in. It is common advised for travelers to be wary in going in the water. In the shallow areas, corals can be very dangerous. They can cause cuts and wounds under swimmers' feet and legs. Also, the trigger fish in the surrounding waters bite. Anyone planning to go diving must kept away from the breeding ground of these fishes as they can sometimes be territorial. By being aware and following these advices a traveler may be assured of a nice vacation in this tropical Muslim island.
