Modern day Japanese culture may be summed up by the words Anime, Live-Action Movies, and Jap-rock. In almost all parts of the world, these aspects of the country's culture are adopted especially by the youth. However, for the people with old souls the traditional counterparts of these elements of the Japanese ways still remain to be the best. Playing Koto (Japan's most popular traditional music instrument) and Wadaiko (traditional Japanese drum) is still one of the attractions people try to hear in a visit to Japan. The Kabuki or the classical Japanese dance-drama remains to be the unbeaten spectacle when it came to visual entertainment in the country. For the aspect of fashion, the Kimono and the obi is worn even by the ramp models in Paris. During celebrations like the Bon-Odori Festival (festival in honor of the departed) in summer, lovely girls in yukatas are seen all over the town. Although current population has evolved a new culture, the existence of the old ones points that the spirit of past lingers in Japanese people's hearts.
